The Hyderabad Institute of Technology & Management Sciences (HITMS) organized a Solidarity Rally on Kashmir Black Day to express unwavering support and unity with the people of Indian-occupied Jammu & Kashmir in their struggle for justice and freedom.

The rally was led by Registrar Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi, and joined by faculty members, staff, and students of HITMS, who marched together to denounce the decades-long oppression and human rights violations in the occupied region. Participants carried placards and banners emphasizing peace, justice, and the right to self-determination for the people of Kashmir.
In his remarks, Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi highlighted the historical significance of October 27, 1947, when Indian forces illegally occupied Jammu & Kashmir, marking it as a Black Day in the region’s history. He reiterated HITMS’s moral and humanitarian commitment to stand with the Kashmiri people and raise awareness about their cause.
“This day reminds us of the resilience and sacrifices of the Kashmiri people. HITMS stands in solidarity with them and calls upon the global community to support their right to freedom and dignity,”
said Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi.
Through this rally, HITMS reaffirmed its role not only as an academic institution but also as a voice for peace, human rights, and justice. The event concluded with prayers for peace and the liberation of Jammu & Kashmir.
