HITMS First Sports Week 2025 Concludes Successfully

The Hyderabad Institute for Technology and Management Sciences (HITMS) successfully concluded its First Sports Week 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation from students at Afzal Ground, Unit No. 10, Latifabad. The event celebrated teamwork, fitness, and healthy competition, marking an important step toward promoting co-curricular engagement among students.

Throughout the week, male and female student teams participated in eight exciting sportsBadminton, Table Tennis, Chess, Cricket, Darts, Futsal, Tug of War, and 100-Meter Race. Each game witnessed intense and spirited competition, reflecting the students’ energy, commitment, and sportsmanship.

Students expressed their delight at the opportunity, sharing, “We usually spend most of our time on computers and mobile phones, but today it felt great to participate in physical activities after a long time. Such events should continue regularly.”

The closing ceremony of the Sports Week was graced by Prof. Dr. Saeed Uddin (Rector, HITMS) as the Chief Guest, and Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi (Registrar, HITMS) as the Guest of Honour. Both appreciated the efforts of the students and organizing team in making the event a memorable success.

In his address, Prof. Dr. Saeed Uddin remarked, “Nations whose playgrounds are filled remain free from crowded hospitals.” He congratulated Deputy Director Student Affairs, Mr. Rashid Ali Rao, and Assistant Director Coordination, Mr. Saad bin Saeed, along with their team, for the smooth and successful organization of the week-long event. He also presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Nadeem Baig for his valuable contributions.

Prof. Dr. Iqleem Haider Taqvi, Registrar HITMS, highlighted the importance of such activities in students’ overall development, saying that extracurricular engagement enhances leadership, discipline, and teamwork skills. He assured the institute’s continued support for organizing similar events in the future.

As part of the closing ceremony, trophies and medals were awarded to the winning players and teams, recognizing their outstanding performances and sports spirit.

The event concluded in an atmosphere of joy, unity, and celebration, with students applauding the institute’s commitment to promoting both academic excellence and holistic growth.
